Celebrating Black History Month at Three O’Clock Press

Three O'Clock Press celebrates Black History MonthOver the course of this month, we’ll be highlighting our books that celebrate the Black History Month theme for 2012, Our Canadian Story: Making Community Engagement A Priority. Check us out on Twitter (@3oclockpress) as we link to related articles and posts from our books and authors as well.

Also, Black History Ottawa says that Canada Post will be issuing two new stamps in their Black History series. One is dedicated to Albertan cowboy John Ware, who pioneered the steer-wrestling that is now the highlight of the Calgary Stampede. The other stamp will be dedicated to civil rights hero Viola Desmond, who fought segregation laws in Nova Scotia and was a strong supporter of the NSAACP. You can read more about them on Canada Post’s page.
