Some notes on a touring mystery writer, Joan Donaldson-Yarmey

9781894549851Over the past few months, we’ve seen a number of periodicals promoting many of Canada’s finest mystery authors. Mystery is hot, apparently; and why not? For all the mystery that this beautiful land offers–whether the vast landscapes or sneaky government–we sure have a lot of unknowns out there.

Well, Sumach Press has been at the forefront of mystery publishing by Canadian women for years now, and our authors like to keep busy. Over the next few weeks, Joan Donaldson-Yarmey will be reading from her novel The Only Shadow in the House, signing her books (also including Sumach mystery Illegally Dead), and taking questions from the audience at locations throughout Alberta and into Vancouver.

Here are the dates:

Apr 11 – Three Tremors: A Trio of Unabashedly Canadian Sleuths – with fellow B.C. authors Don Hauka and Robin Spano

7:00-8:30 | Peter Kaye Room, Lower Level | Central Library (Vancouver Public Library) |
350 West Georgia Street | Vancouver

May 5th – Book Signing

1:00-4:00 |Coles Book Store| Westland Market Mall | 70 McLeod Avenue | Spruce Grove AB

Ms Donaldson-Yarmey will also be putting on a series of workshops on how to approach publishers throughout the first part of May:

May 2 – 6:30 – 9:00 |Lots-A-Books| 5010 50 Ave | Cold Lake, AB

May 3 – 6:00 – 8:00 |Wainwright Library| 921 3 Avenue | Wainwright, AB

May 9 – 7:00 – 10:00 |Smoky Lake Library| 5010-50 St | Smoky Lake, AB

Lastly, and maybe most intriguing of all if we can go by title alone, is “Read Dating”, an event at the Vancouver Library on May 12. We’ll post details on that as soon as we get them…

Hope you can make it!
